Joggers are your loose trousers. They are made using a stretchy fabric. Normally the waist and ankles have an elastic band. As the name suggests, they were originally designed for jogging. Currently dressing casual is in. We see a lot of celebrities sporting casual looks with sweats, hoodies, casual tees, drawstring pants and joggers. Although worn casually, the current trend should not be confused with the out of bed look trend that was in vogue some time back. The idea is to look cool and laid back but not like an overgrown man child or like you have been robbed of all your possessions except for the joggers on your body.
The simplest way to avoid a fashion disaster is to pick a pair of joggers in fabrics like tweed, wool or corduroy or a nice blended fabric. Another great tip would be to avoid the scrunchie elastic appearance at your ankles. They make you look shorter, not to mention hideous. Pick joggers in solid colors. Rust, Khaki, Grey, Black, Tan, Olive or Military Green in various hues work on most skin tones. If you are a novice, begin with solid joggers, experiment with prints and patterns later. I personally prefer basic solid ones compared to any prints or patterns.
Team up your joggers with solid or striped tees. You can even sport a cool button down shirt, unbuttoned of course. This should not be confused with the kind of formal shirts worn to work. Keep the shirt casual. Avoid overly graphic or band or logo t-shirts. Sneakers really compliment the jogger look. Avoid slip on’s or chappals or flip flops.
Now for some cool jogger looks:
- For a fun and casual date night, team up your joggers with a Smart shirt. A cool watch and a nice pair of shoes and you are all set to woo your girl. This look works even for a casual dinner with friends.
- For the perfect movie night look, team up a pair of joggers with a Full Sleeves/Sweatshirts.
Do try out these looks and reinvent casual!
