What To Wear To The Airport?

Weather it’s a long flight with many connections or a small breezy one,airport  is a crazy place to be in. There are thousands of travelers, all cruising in various directions and millions of things you have to keep in mind like your travel documents, luggage, money, and so on.

I understand that it’s absolutely normal for men to give preference to comfort over anything else but before going down the black hole that is sweatpants and hoodie, bear in mind that that is not the only option available to you.

I am neither a believer of the saying “Style over Comfort”, coz, what is the point of looking good when you feel like hell, neither do I believe in “Comfort over Style”, I don’t think being comfortable equates to letting yourself go and not caring a damm about the way you look to the point of breaking the norms of basic public decency.

I mean find a middle ground. Balance your apparel in such a way that you look stylish and feel comfortable. So remember to take a shower and dress in something which makes you look, if not a respectable than at least a semi respectable human being. Come to think about it, Is it really that much of a hassle?

Well if you are the kind of guy who gets stressed while picking out a travel outfit then follow my list and be travel ready. I guarantee you, you will not regret it.

So here goes:

#What to wear to the airport ?

1. Jeans/Chinos:

These are really comfortable while travelling and look really cool. Go for something in a stretchy fabric in a regular cut. Avoid skinny jeans or chinos.

2. Jacket:

Jackets are versatile. They will uplift your look in seconds. Pick something in denim or leather; preferably something wrinkle free, in neutral shades so that it goes with everything. Make sure to carry them with you as you don’t always know how cold it will be when you land or on the flight. Plus jackets are mostly a bit heavier so it would do well to carry them rather than pack them in your suitcase.

3. Scarf:

You look cool and don’t feel cold. Plus it’s a great way to add a dash of color to your ensemble.

4. Loafers:

Imagine you are waiting in line for the security check. You are next and the person before you was a tortoise. Now it’s finally your turn. For one second you actually thought the tortoise would cause you to miss your flight. You have your jacket in your hands already and have removed your watch too but are still wearing your shoes. And these are a really cool pair of tie up sneakers. Comfortable and stylish. Now you just have to remove them, get the security check done and put them back on again. What hits you now as you begin unfastening your laces is that you have replaced the tortoise. You are now the reason for holding up the line. Cool sneakers suddenly don’t seem as cool. What you have just been through while getting on the flight is what you will have to do again when you land and probably multiple times if you have taken connecting flights to your desired destination. Now take a breather and imagine the same situation in a pair of loafers. Easy to get off and easy to slip on again. Plus comfortable enough that you can run around in them as you dash to make your flight.

5. Socks:

Please, for the purpose of hygiene alone one should wear socks. When you take off your shoes at the airport security, they will protect your feet from the bacteria from all around the world.

6. Sunglasses:

Cary a pair of dark sunglasses. Please don’t wear them indoors however cool you think you look. Carry them in your carry on. They are for when you land, especially if it’s sunny and you are looking knackered from your flight.

7. Man Bag:

Don’t neglect this. It is according to me a make or break moment for your entire look. I don’t think I need to tell you just how important it is functionally. I mean, where are you going to put all your stuff? The shades, earphones, gadgets, eye mask, and most importantly your travel documents, credit cards and travelers cheques. Apart from practical purposes, a man bag looks sophisticated. Pick something in black or brown leather.
