There is seriously no need of sticking to traditional colours as men should opt for colours according to their skin tone and not by fashion trends. In our earlier blog we mentioned colours that flatter your skin tone- cloths buying guide for men which is a complete style guide for men with different skin tones. Here in this blog I will specifically talk about Dark Skin Tone and colours men should avoid while dressing up. I would suggest don’t go for those colours that are not in your skin tone pallet. By this I don’t mean throw off all your clothes but be careful while styling them.
Here Are Some Colours Dark Skin Tone Men Should Avoid:
1. Black:
I would suggest dark skin tone men should avoid wearing black as it doesn’t pop up and makes the look dull. Try to go for some contrast shades that compliment your style. This skin tone is dark and black being dark too doesn’t go well with each other. Instead of black you can go for bright white as it is a great contrast to your skin tone.
2. Brown:
Brown is very similar to dark skin tone which makes it merge in and fade out the look. It will be insane to go for the same colour as your skin tone because it looks really bad and also breaks the look. Trust me brown will not flatter your look but make it look satisfactory. You can try out khaki as it will look stunning on you for every occasion.
3. Navy Blue:
I would recommend you to avoid all the dark shades especially those mention above. Navy blue is a powerful colour but flatters the light skin tone so you should not style it. Navy blue is not a good colour option for dark skin tones as it not eye pleasing. There are many other colours you can try out like sky blue or any light shades like pink or yellow.
4. Light Green:
Light Shades look really well on dark skin tone men but there are few light shades that don’t like light green. It leaves behind too bright look which hurts the eyes and also breaks your classy look. Wearing this colour will definitely ensure that your look is washed out and you are left with badly styled outfit. You should in fact try out colours like purple, red or plum for amazing look.
5. Silver:
Dark skin tone men should never opt for silver accessories as it is not flattering. Try to avoid silver jewellery like rings, studs and bracelets and also stuff like silver watch, tie pin, dog tag and lapel pin. Avoid investing in them as it may be a total waste. Instead go for gold accessories as it will enhance your look and also make you stand out.
