Easter is here. The lent is finally over and we are in celebration mode for the resurrection of Christ and the start of Spring. Non-Christians too can be a part of the festivities. The egg hunting is really fun and is a must watch event. Easter is a time for partying and merry making with friends and family. With the lent finally over there’s great food and drinks. There are formal events, parties, picnics, luncheons and brunches all around the town.
So we bring to you some looks you can try for Easter this year.
This spring prints and patterns along with pastels and chalky colors are trending. My personal recommendation is something bright and light. Your outfit for Easter will depend upon your plan for the day. Generally people prefer wearing their Sunday best on Easter, especially to the church.
So your first look is for church or a formal Easter event. I would suggest a suit. So friends let’s Suit Up! But not the regular black suit. That’s just too boring and predictable. Choose one in Prussian blue or Charcoal Grey or Dark Red. These colors go well with pastels. Pick a pastel dress shirt. If you are wearing a tie, color co-ordinate it well. A bow tie in a bright and catchy shade or cool print works too. You can even add a pocket square. Something bright in a cool print or pattern, polka dots, floral or stripes will make you stand out. Don’t wear boring socks. Have fun with those too. A nice color will add character to your look. Accessorize with a nice watch. You can even add a tie tag or a tie clip if you are wearing a tie. Go for dressy shoes and make sure they are spotlessly clean. Match them in color and texture.
Now when I say to play with colors I don’t mean you pick all the colors all at once and look like a clown. I mean pick subtle colors, colors that complement each other and colors that coordinate well.
The second look is a little less formal, for those casual Easter get-togethers and picnics. For this look you can team up a polo shirt or a button down with khakis, chinos or even long shorts. Pick colored chinos. If you are opting for khakis, pick a shirt in earth tones. You can accessorize with a watch with a funky or colorful dial, if you opt for a strapped watch you can pick one in a nice spring tone, a hat and a leather bracelet or a cross around your neck. Wear shades if it’s picnic or a day event. You can pick stylish aviators, those would look really cool. If the weather is cooler than you can add a jacket to the mix. You can even add a stole or a scarf with light floral prints or checks. Pick subtle colors that complement each other well like pink and blue, indigo; match grey and blue, blue and green, white and pink, white and light orange or peach. Stripes, light floral prints, checks look very appealing.
Choose shoes like loafers, suede shoes or casual oxfords, match them with your outfit in color and texture.
There is a third look idea for those celebrating with their son or nephew. That is to dress alike. This would be very cute not to mention unbelievably cool. It would make a fantastic memory and may even lead to a new tradition.
Easter is a great time to dress up and flaunt your style. So Dress Up and Have Fun!
